Never Lose That Feeling #1

Never Lose That Feeling #1 is the first volume of three sixteen track compilation cds of contemporary artists that we love covering noisy indie classics from the late eighties, early nineties. Everyone from Spiritualized to Swervedriver through Ride, Curve, House Of Love, My Bloody Valentine and of course Slowdive are given a modern twist by such AC30 favourites as Ulrich Schnauss, Douglas Heart and Amusement Parks On Fire.

To me Neasden is the definition of neato art. Bow down to the kings. Working on illustration, exhibitions, motion and one off projects mixed with a bucket of humour the results are exquisite. Ridicilous Puffa is one of my all time favourites. Make sure to swing by the aces shop as well.

Jacko - a model of the world

MTV is going downhill with lightspeed, BUT this is a bright spark in the dark.

Jacko comes from a small town called Savros. He's 23 years old and he lives together with his parents among pigs and ducks in an old farmyard. His big passion in life is fashion, and most of the day he spends in the cellar admiring his face and body in front of a mirror.

One day he decides to make his dream come true. He leaves his parents and goes to Berlin to seek his fortune as a supermodel.

But there is one problem, his neck is to fat. HA HA wicked!

Asterik is about the word love

Saturday, May 21, 2005

Make sure to check out the print work from this Seattle firm. Their cd-covers are stunning. Mission: Asterik is about the word love. Love, after all, is what makes this beautiful and strange world go ‘round, right? We think so. Let us start by saying we love what we do for a living. We love waking up in the morning and going to work. We do. We love design. We love art. We love music. We love life. We love Seattle summers. Go see Asterikstudio

Next Big Thing in Online Type

Bill Gates wants computer users, well, Microsoft users, to have a more enjoyable on-screen reading experience -- so much so that he made improving reading on the screen one of his top five priorities.

Beginning in 2006, Microsoft says it will ship with its operating system and other software products six brand new typefaces created especially for extended on-screen reading. Look at the fonts here

Fantastic shoegazer/dreampop/slowcore/indie portal in the most horrible wrapping you have ever seen, very lofi indeed. But the content is as great as can be - reviews, interviews and a download here and there. The best place to keep up to date on the shoegazer scene. Hard focus - somewherecold.....

Televise - Outside Out

Simon Scott's (SLOWDIVE, INNER SLEEVE, CHARLOTTES) new project. Echoes of 4AD's finest moments, Thrill Jockey's freedom and Creation's greatest signings are clues to their sound. Pure shoegaze pop, reverb, delay, distortion, digital silence and analogue destruction. Ride, Swervedriver, Spiritualized at their best.

Cirkus is coming to town !!!! (Oslo)

Wednesday, May 18, 2005

Cant wait to see the new show from Cirkus Circør here in Oslo, at Bærum kulturhus May 24. Saw them last time they visited in 99 and they blew me away. Event of the year I´d say. Cirkus Cirkör began as an independent contemporary circus group in Stockholm in 1995, with a desire to change the world as its inspiration.

Emboldened by thrilling action, dare-devilish humour, and cheeky commitment grounded in art and education as its working tools; If you haven´t seen these guys yet, make sure you do. Oh! (billetter på posten)

The right brain of Myron Campbell

Quite similar to my all time favourite - (geoff´s awesome oculart) - Myron Campbell´s right brain work is well worth a look. The fragile circus is a surreal world of animal hybrids where tragic stories of longing and loss are caried out within heart stiring dreamlike vistas..... Notsosimpleton

Malory new release - The Third Face CD

Tuesday, May 17, 2005

The Third Face is Malory's new offering and it is their first since 2002. From what I hear on this disc, the wait for the new album was more than worth the wait. Malory is shoegaze at its best, with shimmering guitars and breathy vox....a very strong album. If you love shoegaze or techno pop in anyway, this album is for you." -- somewherecold.com
