Anyhuuw - these 3 xqisité examples of packaging can easily trick you into a state where your physical and mental faculties are impaired, OR are they simply so chic that you dont even wanna open the bottles?

Love in a package...

Every night I cry myself to sleep being stuck working with stupid ass webdesign surrounded by computergeeks instead of working in a small firm doing packaging and print. Now its kind of 'too late' to go into proper design work, but I guess that is just pure bull. Never too late right!!! RIGHT!? Every single time I start surfing for inspiration I end up on looking at packaging or some intricate typography. Cant remember the last time I saw some really nifty typo on a webpage apart from some half decent spacing here and there. 96% crap....

But hey! Thanks a lot for having 2 of my projects in your new book BigBros.

Fourteen faces were constructed, de-constructed and fused in the hopes of assembling experiences that are simultaneously simple and yet very complex. The objective was to encounter the human face as one previously may not have encountered before. Very interesting stuff indeed. Go Chris Ro!

Mercedes Benz - C Class (**** top notch ****)

Splendid campaign by Agency Republic. My favourite site so far in 2007! Experience the way in which the new C-Class put you into the optimum state of mind for driving via a series of interactive games. Especially love the one under the green(balance). The pure simplicity is almost to much for me. The use of sound is ingenious and the copy is short, very well written and to the point. Great work. Kudos.

11th Annual Webby Awards Nominees & Winners

With nearly 70 categories, Website entries make up the majority of Webby Awards Winners, Nominees and Honorees. Some are beautiful to look at and interact with. Others are a testament to usability and functionality. And a handful excel across the board.

What strikes me is the total lack of typographic finesse in a lot of these and lots of other new sites as well. Should you care less about type treatment on screen? Of course not, and there is absolutely no excuse for it either.

Stat Attak shirts - T Brodahl and crew

We were perusing NationMaster, checking out statistics on various nations, something we do quite often here at the Stolen Headquarters, when we came across "Life Expectancy at Birth." Andorra was the highest with 83.51 years, and all the way at the bottom was Mozambique with 31.1 years. This shocked and horrified us, especially since the average age of our small company is just under 28 years old.

We spent the next couple of weeks telling this horrible statistic to everyone we met. Everyone we told was as shocked and appalled as we were. We quickly realized that telling people individually was gonna take too long, so we came up with the idea of StatAttak - a t-shirt line based on statistics that people should be aware of. This way people would become walking billboards for these stats, and they would help spread the word. The hope is that once you see these numbers, you can't help but want to change them.

Since Mozambique was the country that inspired all of this, the Sons of Stolen are putting 20% of the money from the sale of the shirts towards building an orphanage in Mozambique. Instead of giving the money to a charity, we will go to Mozambique with a group of volunteers from the design industry and build an orphanage from the ground up. We hope that this will help us better understand Africa and that a personal interaction with the local population will inspire everyone involved to keep working towards solutions to the many problems facing that continent.
